Upon the newly launched Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 6 and Z Fold 6, Google announced the new Gemini features for these devices, mainly aiming to enhance the user experience and provide greater functionality across multiple apps.
Gemini app with screen context
With the updated Gemini app, users can now use overlay and split-screen interfaces, making accessing and using the app on foldable devices easier.
Users can simply swipe the corner of the screen or use the command "Hey Google" to bring up Gemini. This update also suggests that Google Assistant may be saying farewell, as Gemini takes center stage in user interaction.
Circle to Search
Google initially introduced the Circle to Search feature during Samsung's Galaxy S24 event earlier this year. This feature allows users to search for something without switching apps by selecting it on their screen.
Google is now extending the functionality of Circle to Search by providing solutions for solving mathematical equations and reading barcodes and QR codes.
This new version of Circle to Search will be available on more devices later this year, offering users a convenient and efficient way to search for information.
Wear OS 5 Integration with Samsung Galaxy Watches
Google's latest smartwatch operating system, Wear OS 5, will be integrated into the new Samsung Galaxy Watches.
The Galaxy Watch 7 and Galaxy Watch Ultra will be the first smartwatches to feature Wear OS 5, which comes with better performance and battery life enhancements. Wear OS 5 offers new fitness tracking features, watch faces, and improved battery life.
The rollout of Wear OS 5 will take place in stages. It will debut on the Galaxy Watch 7 and Ultra, and in August, it will be available on the Galaxy Watch 4, 5, and 6. Google Pixel Watch and Watch 2 users can expect to receive the update in October.
YouTube Multiview on Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 6
The Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 6 introduces a unique multitasking feature called YouTube Multiview. Users can watch up to four streams of YouTube TV simultaneously on their device with this feature.
With Multiview, subscribers can select a combination of football, news, weather, and sporting events to keep up with multiple live streams without the need to switch channels.
Multiview was formerly used to be accessible on Android phones and tablets in May but is now extended to the Galaxy Z Fold 6. This feature offers a new level of customization and convenience, enabling users to enjoy multiple streams of content on their foldable device.
