Meta has made significant strides in expanding the geographical reach and functionality of its AI assistant. Users in 22 countries can now access Meta AI on popular platforms such as WhatsApp, Instagram, Messenger, and Facebook.
This rollout aims to enhance user interaction by providing support in seven new languages, including French, German, Hindi, and Spanish.
In addition to language support, Meta AI is also now accessible through innovative devices like Ray-Ban Meta smart glasses and Meta Quest headsets.
"Imagine Me" Feature
A standout feature within this expansion is "Imagine Me," which leverages generative AI to create unique avatars based on user-provided photos. By simply typing “Imagine me,” users can generate a digital representation of themselves in various imaginative settings, significantly enhancing personal expression and creativity.
The feature supports interactive editing, allowing users to modify elements within the generated images through simple text commands, such as replacing objects or altering backgrounds.
Moreover, the work of their creativity can be easily shared across Meta’s platforms, facilitating a vibrant community of users who can demonstrate their AI-generated creations.
"Imagine Yourself" Feature
In addition to the new "Imagine Me" feature, Meta AI has introduced the "Imagine Yourself" tool, which enables users to create stylized selfies based on personal photos and imaginative prompts.
This new functionality presents a fresh avenue for users to engage with AI by visualizing themselves in various contexts, such as "Imagine me surfing" or "Imagine me on a beach vacation."
Moreover, by using straightforward prompts, such as "Change the cat to a corgi," users can personalize their AI-generated images, further enhancing the interactivity and creativity of the experience.
Enhancements with Llama 3.1 405B Model
To bolster its AI functionality, Meta has integrated the Llama 3.1 405B model into its system. This advanced model is designed to handle more complex queries, particularly excelling in subjects like mathematics and coding, thus addressing previous criticisms of the AI's performance in factual and computational tasks.
However, users must manually switch to this advanced version and are restricted in the number of queries allowed weekly, after which the assistant reverts to the less capable Llama 3.1 70B model.
