Seedance 2.5

Seedance 2.5 AI Video Generator

Seedance 2.5 is ByteDance’s next-generation AI video model, positioned as a major upgrade for longer clips, stronger reference control, and more editable outputs. It can generate up to 30-second videos in one pass and support multimodal references like images, clips, and audio, with region-level editing. Seedance 2.5 is still on its way to HIX AI. Key Features of Seedance 2.5

Up to 30 Seconds in One Pass

One of the biggest changes in Seedance 2.5 is its ability to generate a longer clip in a single run. Instead of producing very short fragments and forcing you to stitch them together later, the model is capable of creating a continuous sequence of up to 30 seconds at once, which makes the final output feel more natural and coherent.

Text prompt Output video
One-take handheld gimbal tracking shot. The camera slowly pushes in through a gap in a heavy red curtain and enters a warm-toned backstage dressing room. A young female singer, with her back to the camera, is adjusting her earpiece as a staff member reminds her it's time to go on. She turns toward the camera and starts singing citypop. The camera pulls back and tracks her as she passes through the curtain into a dim backstage corridor, interacting naturally with her dancers along the way; one staff member hands her a microphone. She and the dancers then step onto the stage, and the camera arcs around to the back, gradually revealing the red-and-black stage design, LED screens, spotlights, haze, and reflective floor. The camera finally pulls out to a wide shot of the arena, showing the packed audience, light boards, glow sticks, and cheering crowd, capturing the youthful, free-spirited climax of the concert.

Seedance 2.5 is designed to handle longer sequences with fewer visual breaks, which makes it more suitable for narrative content, branded content, and polished social clips where even small inconsistencies are noticeable. It can keep the same subject, lighting, visual style, and motion logic stable across the full clip, instead of drifting as the video progresses.

Multimodal Reference Control

Seedance 2.5 is heavily centered on reference-based generation. This model accepts a large number of references, which may include images, video clips, text prompts, and in some descriptions audio. With these inputs, you can give more structured guidance before generation begins, instead of relying only on a single text prompt.

Overall content requirements: fun interaction between 2D characters and a 3D world, cinematic quality, cute and heartwarming, real environments. Character setting: the paper puppy @Image 1 is the size of a fist and exists as a two-dimensional 2D being. The side of the paper puppy @Image 1 is as thin as a sheet of paper. The limbs and ears of the paper puppy @Image 1 are detachable paper pieces that can separate from the torso when expressing character actions and emotions. All movements of the paper puppy @Image 1have a stop-motion-like dropped-frame effect. The yellow puppy @Image 2 is a real yellow puppy in a bright bedroom @Image 3. The paper puppy @Image 1 waits by a metal dog bowl @Image 4. An automatic feeder @Image 5 drops a piece of kibble onto its nose, making it smile. Suddenly, the yellow puppy @Image 2 playfully trots into the room. Startled, the paper puppy @Image 1 flees across the rug and leaps onto the wall. Using its thin form, it flattens itself against surfaces, sliding across walls, curtains, and furniture while the yellow puppy chases it. Finally, the paper puppy @Image 1 climbs beside a family drawing @Image 6 and tosses the kibble to the leaping yellow puppy @Image 2. As the real puppy eats on the bed, the paper puppy flattens onto the paper, transforming into the illustrated pet dog @Image 7.

More Precise Editing

Another notable feature of Seedance 2.5 is the ability to refine specific parts of a generation rather than redoing everything. It supports region-level editing and timestamp-level control, which allows you to target particular sections of the frame or a specific moment in the timeline. This makes the model more practical for iterative creative work, because it turns video generation into something closer to direct editing instead of a one-shot gamble.

Change the background to a vineyard in France, replace the coffee in the two people's hands with red wine glasses, change the girl's outfit into a French floral wrap dress, and add a thin-strap small bag on her body. Keep everything else unchanged.

Higher Visual Quality

Seedance 2.5 can produce sharper detail, more stable lighting, stronger realism, and more cinematic motion than earlier generations. It can now produce AI videos that look less "AI-like" and more production-ready.

Seedance 2.5 vs Other Advanced Video Models

Feature Seedance 2.5 Seedance 2.0 Gemini Omni Flash
Primary focus Longer, more controllable AI video generation with strong reference guidance. Earlier Seedance video model for shorter generation workflows and more mature API iteration. Multimodal video creation and conversational editing, especially for transforming and refining footage.
Max clip length Up to 30 seconds in one pass. 4 to 15 seconds. Up to 10 seconds.
Visual quality Strong motion, improved prompt adherence, and native 4K. Good baseline quality, but more constrained than 2.5. Strong for editing and coherence, with emphasis on realism, physics-aware motion, and consistent transformations.
Editing style Region-level/local editing and stronger selective replacement. Basic extension and segment editing, with less fine-grained control. Conversational editing is the standout feature: you edit by describing changes in natural language.
Audio Native audio-video generation with improved synchronization. Native audio and multi-language lip-sync in a more established workflow. Native audio is emphasized, but audio input support can be limited.
Best for Longer storytelling, ad concepts, reference-heavy production, and clips that need continuity. Faster testing, shorter clips, and more mature production pipelines. Video editing, style transfer, restyling, and conversational revisions.
